• Supervised the Tuscaloosa County Public Works emergency response to the tornado disaster in Tuscaloosa 2011 including completing the damage claims with FEMA and AEMA
• Supervised the response of the Tuscaloosa Public Works Department to 14 separate Federal disaster declarations including completing the damage claims with FEMA and AEMA

• Serve on the Board of Directors of Kentuck Art Center and Festival
• Serve on the Steering Committee of the Kentuck Art Festival
• Serve on the Board of Directors of Living RIver, a Presbyterian Church Camp on the Cahaba River
• Serve on the Construction Committee for Habitat for Humanity
• Serve on the Board of Directors for the Local Emergency Planning Committee for the Tuscaloosa Emergency Management Agency
• Serve as Chair for the Advancement Committee for the Black Warrior Council of the Boy Scouts of America
• Eagle Scout coach for over 100 scouts who have been promoted to Eagle Scout
• Volunteer with construction crews for Habitat for Humanity
