5 Star Rental, Seasonal Contractor
5 Star Rental
08.2023 - 07.2024
I first began work in 08/2023 until 01/2024, when I returned to Chick-fil-A because of the seasonal requirements at 5 Star, then recently in April of this year returned for more seasonal work during the summer
5 Star Rental is a rental company that deals with jobs such as setting up large tents, tables, chairs, stages, and more for large events
These events could be either large weddings with multiple tents, tables, and chairs, or events for UNT and TWU
As it is a smaller rental company, customer service was a huge striving point for the company as every customer mattered
Dealing with angry customers was a regular occurrence however we would provide them with refunds and attempt to keep every customer we could to return to us for business in the future
Being a small group of guys who would go on these jobs this was a great experience for working within a team and communicating with each other about items that needed to be brought to a certain job cite, or something one of us needed while on a job site
This manual labor job introduced me to real hard work and only further grew my work ethic at this young age
Building connections with the customers was very important as continuing a good relationship would cause for them to return for business, especially with collages like UNT and TWU in which we did many events for such as graduations, tailgates, orientation, and more.
Chick-fil-A Employee/ Team Lead
Chick-fil-a
07.2021 - 08.2023
I was first hired on in 07/2021 and worked until 08/2023, then was rehired on, after my seasonal job, in 01/2024 until 03/2024, accumulating for over 2 years of employment
At Chick-fil-a I was both a front of house and a back of house employee and would rotate going from front to back, both of which require a high tier customer service understanding and management
Customer service is one of chick-fil-a's highest regards as it is employed from day one the requirements the company expects for its employees
Weather the customer is angry or upset, the upmost respect is still required
Dealing with customers either angry or satisfied was a daily occurrence for me even when working in the back as if you do enter the front of the store, interactions with customers were regular, weather that be assisting the front team with taking an order, refilling a drink, or helping if they are short staffed
Being a cross trained employee caused for many occurrences of assisting the front for whatever reason there may be
Being a team lead in the back also came with its own challenges apart from customer service, this job title came with challenges such as deciding the positions for all of the other employees to ensure that the shift would run smoothly and without chaos
Working in the back also relays almost entirely on communication between the positions, constantly communicating how busy we were and what was needed to be cooked
Without this, the kitchen would fall behind and during busy rushes, communication was the backbone of keeping caught up with the constant flow of orders
This job required having a level head and being able to stay calm in stressful situations because of chick-fil-a's popularity, especially because of the location, there were many very stressful nights in which I was in charge of the entire kitchen
I also was trained to be a manager of the back because of my quick learning abilities and ability to run a shift smoothly however was only rejected the positionbecause of me being 17 at the time.
Assistant janitor
Independent Contractor through personal connections
05.2020 - 10.2022
My mothers second job was helping out cleaning the school in which she worked at along with the church we attended
This consisted of going through the entire school and church, wiping down every table and counter surface along with sweeping and mopping the floors followed by taking out the trash for both buildings
From the young age of 14 I would begin to help her on the weekends as we would clean the entire school, this was a early stepping stone into my work ethic as it taught me from young to just put my head down and do the work required as it was essential to assisting my single mother with taking care of me and my siblings.
