  • In my early career with CGCC I was an injection MA giving a multitude of injections daily (B12, Procrit, Lupron, Aranesp, vaccines, etc.) as well as accessing port-a-caths, venipuncture, PICC line access and maintenance. I went back to college and became an LPN where I continued as the injection LPN with additional duties such as some IV drips such as Reclast, Zometa, Iron infusions. Evaluated lab data in conjunction with the physician to provide prompt care to the oncology patient. Provided patient and family education regarding disease processes, treatment side effects and self-care measures. Evaluated side effects and toxicities of chemotherapy and related treatments and provided for their management. Assessed patient problems by telephone triage. Ensured patient care is thoroughly and properly documented in the electronic medical record.
