During my time as a support group leader, we were given our Proclamation by our local mayor Karen Goe.
We also did Alpha-1 Virtual Walks.
I also created a private and public facebook page for people, and family members of people diagnosed with Alpha-1 to find information.
My mission was to make an awareness of this liver and lung condition available.
I also attended national conferences and education days.
We had the honor of being presented with our city Proclamation for the O2 Seekers of Bakersfield, CA, stating that the month of November is Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency Awareness month. We were presented in public, by the office of our Mayor Karen Goe of the city of Bakersfield, CA. on November 17, 2019.
