Owner/operator of Winery on the Bay/Dog'gone Brewery. My husband and I opened the store in May 2014 and are currently in operation going strong. We manage the day-to-day operations, all the hiring of staff and ordering. We have a manager who assists us with these tasks also.
Our operation is very detailed so we strive to provide high-quality services as we create the products as well as our interactions with customers.
I also create the monthly schedule, as well as social media and our monthly newsletter.
Our team ferments and blends each wine as well as the making of the craft beers that we sell in house. We have a wine club that we manage and offer tastings and flights of all items.
Ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining a good relationship with vendors is extremely important. We have been operating in Rockport, Texas for the past 10 years.
Owner/operator at our store Winery on the Gruene. We opened in a small 1,000 sqft space and within one year moved to a prominent building within the Gruene, Texas area (down the hill from Gruene Hall). My husband and I with our business partner John, worked the store for 18 years. We provided locally made wines. At one time we had 30 different wines from Red, White to Fruit-infused. We ferment and blended each wine in house while buying the juices from a wine broker.
While moving to Rockport in 2014, we wanted to focus more on this store so we sold it to an amazing group and they are going strong.
After Hurricane Harvey in 2017, our community lost so much. One of the items was our beloved Blue Crab out by the beach. Myself with an amazing team of 5 women, began a campaign to bring it back. We sold shirts and every other month, we held a fundraiser with auction items to help raise money. This was all done at Winery on the Bay at 1007 E North St, in Rockport, Texas. We performed this for nearly 3 years and raised over $13,000. I am very proud of this accomplishment and why I was awarded the Heartbeat of the Community Award.
