  • Started my own business, Formulated Business Services and began doing accounting for several Small Business Owners. I provided bookkeeping and payroll services as well as monthly reporting. Nalu Kai (Naish) became one of my clients in 1997 when the business only required part-time hours. In 2000 the Naish business took off with the introduction of kites and kiteboarding. My job quickly became a full-time job. In 2001, due to some family issues, I decided to move back to my hometown in Church Road, VA with my two children. At this time Nalu Kai was growing very fast and the Owner agreed to continue using my services from Virginia. It worked out better than either of us imagined because I was now in everyone’s time zone that I needed to work with. Europe and most of our Importers, the West Coast once Pacific Board Sports was started, Maui and all our factories in Asia and Thailand. This meant that I was available from 8 am until 10-11 pm but there was never any pressure, and my job was challenging and fun. I was always appreciated and rewarded for my honesty, integrity and willingness to take care of whatever was needed. I later changed my Company to DM Properties, Finance & Investments, LLC which it remains at this time.

  • Company Overview: Owner Robby Naish. Headquartered in Haiku, HI (Maui) Naish products are designed and tested by the R & D team and team riders. Products are manufactured in Asia & Thailand to Naish specifications. Products are sold to International Importers for distribution and sale in their respective countries. Products include windsurfing sails, kites, boards, stand-up paddle boards, foils and accessories. Retail sales of windsurfing, kiteboarding, foil boarding, and stand-up paddle boarding equipment from the Haiku location. Pacific Board Sports LLC. was started in 2007 and is owned by Nalu Kai Incorporated. Office was in White Salmon, WA and is the North American, Caribbean & Canada Distributor for Naish Brand Products.
  • Responsibilities – All aspects of the Companies Accounting including AR, AP, Inventory including adding new products, updating pricing and reconciling at year end, GL, Banking transactions, Bank Reconciliation, HR, Payroll processing including all federal and State requirements for multiple states, later processing with a 3rd party payroll provider, communication with Importers, team located on the west coast and Maui, insurance including Auto, Business General Liability & Property, Workers Compensation and annual audits required for GL insurance and Workers Compensation policies, Negotiated shipping contracts with UPS & Fed-Ex as well as International freight forwarders and US custom Brokers for US Companies. Annual reports for Delaware, Washington State, Oregon, Hawaii, State Sales Tax Reporting and all year end reports and information required by the CPA to prepare annual tax returns. Worked directly with the owner and provided monthly and quarterly reports for both Companies, provided any additional information as required or requested.
  • In 2020 it was decided to switch our accounting system to NetSuite. I worked directly with our NetSuite Implementation team to design our NetSuite program to accommodate our existing accounting system and then to import and Go Live in February 2021 for Pacific Board Sports and April 2021 for Nalu Kai Incorporated.

  • Company Overview: Naish Brand - Nalu Kai Incorporated and Pacific Board Sports, LLC. were sold to a Dutch Company – Kubus Sports. At this time both US Companies were combined with Kubus Sports which had previously been one of Nalu Kai Incorporated's Importers. July of 2024 Pacific Board Sports LLC moved to Hood River, OR.
  • Responsibilities – Same as above including training new staff as the new Owner began changing the structure. Worked with the Kubus Controller to produce all documents required by the Audit Firm located in the Netherlands and to answer and support questions. Kubus Sports decided to hire a Finance Manager to work in the new office and I was told that my services would no longer be required in November of 2024. I worked until April 2025 gradually handing over and training for all the areas of accounting that I had previously done myself to 3 new people. I am still answering questions when they arise.

  • Company Overview: Kailua, HI (Oahu) – Retail/Rental Shop for Water Sports. Carried the Naish brand of equipment as well as other Accessory brands.
  • Responsibilities – Accounting including AR, AP, GL, Bank Reconciliations, Inventory. Implemented new Accounting Software and upgraded manual accounting to new Software.

  • Company Overview: Kailua, HI (Oahu) – Wholesale Manufacturer of Windsurfing Equipment, retail and rental operations. Windsurfing equipment was also licensed to multiple International Importers.
  • Responsibilities – Began as clerk typist, became bookkeeper (manual records), Implemented new accounting software, AR, AP, Inventory, GL, Bank Reconciliations, Insurance, Payroll including all federal and state reporting, Audits including Workers Compensation and General Business Insurance, State GET Sales Tax reporting and provided all required reports to CPA for year in Tax Return preparation. Worked as General Manager and provided absentee Owner with all required information and financial reports.
