- Ensure that the ward inventory is properly maintained
- Ensure that monitors, defibrillator and other types of medical equipment function properly and keep ready all emergency drugs, and supplies for use
- Guide, supervise and evaluate the patient-care given by nurses and nursing students
- Maintain clean and safe environment of the ward

- Assist doctors in performing diagnostic or treatment procedures such as endoscopv, endotracheal intubation
- Central venous catheter insertion, cardioversion and defibrillation

- Perform various procedures such as intravenous cannulation, wound dressing, urinary bladder catheterization, Naso-gastric tube insertion and gastric lavage by applying principles of medical /surgical asepsis
- Administer oxygen, intravenous fluids, blood and blood products as well as administer medication through oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular and intravenous route and observe for its adverse reaction
- Draw blood samples for different diagnostic tests including Arterial Blood Gas analysis, and collect other specimens such as urine, stool and sputum
- Ensure safe transport the critically ill patients for investigations like X-ray, CT, MRI, USG, etc
- Provide care to the patient with mechanical ventilator and and performs accurate and timely documentation of patient care
- Provide appropriate discharge education and treatment information.
