G7 Summit – Presidential Security Detail
Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Iwakuni, Japan

Selected to support Presidential security operations during the 2023 G7 Summit in Hiroshima. MCAS Iwakuni served as the arrival and departure site for Air Force One, carrying the President of the United States.
- Assigned to protect Air Force One while on the flight line; enforced strict access control in coordination with U.S. Secret Service and base security forces.
- Challenged all personnel at Entry Control Points (ECPs), verifying identification and ensuring only authorized personnel accessed restricted areas.
- Conducted walking patrols along flight line perimeter fencing to detect and deter unauthorized surveillance, photography, or breaches.
- Successfully maintained 100% security integrity with zero incidents reported throughout the Presidential visit. Praised for professionalism and operational discipline under high-level security conditions.
Friendship Day Air Show
MCAS Iwakuni, Japan
April 15, 2023 & May 5, 2024
Supported one of Southeast Asia's largest joint U.S.-Japan air shows, which drew tens of thousands of attendees and included high-level aviation demonstrations, cultural exchange events, and force protection efforts.
- 2024 Event:
Collaborated with Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) to support foreign national screening and threat assessment.
Identified, screened, and processed over 700 non-Japanese visitors, including individuals flagged for potential ideological or geopolitical concerns.
Played a critical role in safeguarding U.S. and allied personnel through active counterintelligence and force protection operations.
Efforts were officially recognized and commended by both MCAS Iwakuni Command and the NCIS Far East Field Office.
- 2023 Event:
Assigned to frontline ECP security, conducting baggage inspections and screening attendees for contraband including firearms, knives, radios, drugs, alcohol, and other prohibited items.
Maintained high visibility presence and consistent enforcement of base security protocols.
Ensured safe and secure access for thousands of guests and supported interagency coordination with Japanese Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) and U.S. security entities.
Exercise ACTIVE SHIELD
MCAS Iwakuni, Japan
November 7–17, 2022 & October 17–26, 2023
Participated in annual base-wide joint force readiness exercise, simulating real-world security, emergency response, and defense scenarios in coordination with the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF).
- Engaged in scenario-based training including bomb threat response, Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), riot control operations, and chemical/biological hazard response.
- Assigned to perimeter defense posts with full combat load (Kevlar helmet, flak vest with SAPI plates) and armed with M16 service rifle and M240B medium machine gun.
- Maintained strict post vigilance and enforced identification protocols, challenging all non-U.S. military personnel.
- Strengthened joint interoperability and combat readiness between U.S. Marine Corps and JMSDF security forces.
