I have worked in the criminal justice field for 36 years. I have held several positions in the Department of Corrections. I started off as an Officer,Sergeant, Lieutenant, Unit Manager, Acting Assistant Superintendent at The State Farm Complex in Goochland County Virginia. I am currently Assistant Superintendent/Lieutenant Colonel at Riverside Regional Jail for the last 3 years. My duties are planning, directing and administering operations for custody security and welfare of inmates in compliance e with institutional polices and procedures, mandatory state standards and relevant state and federal laws. Revising the jail authority polices and procedures to maintain compliance with evolving legal requirements, codes and standards. Recommending polices for adoption by the authority, implements authority decisions, overseeing the management and training of the staff to ensure the achievement of goals and maintenance of institutional safety and security, promoting assigning disciplining an reviewing evaluation of all personnel, making decisions on employee grievances overseeing the management of the inmate population; resolving inmate issues complaints and concerns serving as the highest authority in responding to inmate grievances and assuring quality treatment and a safe, secure confinement for inmates.
