While working for Subway in Tumwater, I had quickly rose to become the Shift Lead for the team where I was tasked with being able to not only train future staff on employ but also remain erudite in not only was sales and specials we had on offer but to also know the entire operation of the store including having the numbers to call for services for our drink and Icee fountains, our industrial fridge and freezer, and other such machinery. I was also in charge of making sure that food preparation and safety was upheld every shift, being keenly aware of our "First in, First out" policy, food preparation protocols, and where to find the proper sanitations for cleaning and maintaining not only back of house areas but also guest dining areas as well. I was paramount in my ability to interface with guests where I had established a great plethora of positive rapport with many of our guests that had come in, so much so that I knew over 50 guest by name and vice versa. I also had a great knowledge of current offered and promoted sandwiches and past sandwiches that Subway had on offer as well as suggesting good pairings with which sauces, meats, or vegetables that I was able to find a high satisfaction rate with our guest base. I also dealt with a lot of money handling at the register and also had meticulously assured that the sales for the day were correctly and consistently tracked alongside my manager Brandi. I was also quite familiar with our order manifest and was able to not only order full restock for our store but was also able to key into certain items we would need more of due to sales records all while sticking within our stores' financial budget allotted for orders.
For my job at Western State, I was not only trained on how to prepare and ready food for an entire hospital but also had specific trainings entailing behavioural health that I excelled primarily in areas of de-escalation, conflict management, active support, and how to establish professional, efficient boundaries. When preparing food, I was part of a focused and driven team that had upheld tight time frames, special and specific dietary needs order deliveries, and preparing and sending our prepared meals throughout the entire hospital for the set meal period. As a collective staff and an individual, I made sure that every surface was properly cleaned between meals, apparatuses and utensils were sanitized and washed, and that the kitchen was helped to be reset for future meal prep for the follow meal periods. When I was tasked with working within the wards with the patients, I had made a good rapport with a lot of patients that would always be happy to see and work with me or be served by me, especially including some of the more "at-risk" patients that didn't interact well or much with other staff or patients. I not only strived to provide good service but also fantastic support to those I had served.
While working at Kohl's, I was a pivotal liaison for our store and our customers. I was able to form many productive relationships with our customer base with my role focusing on resolving issues with sales and returns along with also tackling concerns and inquiries promptly and satisfactorily with personal, on-point solutions to problems. Through our computer's database, I was able to learn how to navigate and find the records of thousands items sold from our location as far back as 2007, which was the store's opening, in terms of needs of client returns and purchases as well as product recalls to help facilitate safety, accountability, and customer contentment. I worked with often with finances both on register as well as having had been trained in our financial office to be able to help management staff account all sales for the day at the end of shift and store close, making sure to recount and record properly for our financial records. I had also became very well read on our store's credit card application process along with knowing the finer details of interest rates, sales that attach to owning the card, and informing each approved client of when their specific individual payment dates were due.
Back in October of 2013 to January of 2014, I was hired on as a temporary Seasonal Manager to handle the influx of holiday customers and sales staff where I worked diligently and flexibly coordinating staff scheduling, money handling when at the registers, financial bookkeeping for the sales of the day, and customer service and engagement to ensure an overall positive experience at our store. I also worked with some charities and toy drives for the holiday season collecting donations (coats, toys, etc.) from customers and volunteers for the less fortunate children in our area. During shifts, I had kept up a quick pace with the ever changing priorities throughout the day and was responsible for delegating lead staff tasks for optimum store performance and tackling issues as they arose from call-outs, discount or sales discrepancies, to store recovery and reset.
