Energetic and goal-driven pre-medical undergraduate at UNC, blending a strong foundation in biology and chemistry with an interest in nanotechnology, histological, and pediatric research. Co-authoring a paper in Nature Photonics, I've demonstrated my commitment to advancing medical knowledge. With a strategic eye for the technology side of healthcare, my goal is to graduate with a dual MD/PhD degree. A dedicated researcher and passionate advocate for the medical field, I bring a unique blend of scientific knowledge and engineering insight to contribute meaningfully to the evolving landscape of healthcare.
Undergraduate LA for Chemistry 101. Help 101 students facilitate higher-level learning and analyze the questions and exams. Help guide weekly recitation sessions with a graduate TA.
Facilitated small group instruction sessions.
NHA CCMA at Carolina Urgent Care. Provide direct clinical care and round with PAs/MDs for urgent treatment of patients.
Direct Patient Care: Assist in diagnosis and treatment. Intake patients, perform physical exams, acute concussion exams, assist in minor surgeries, round, and discuss with PA/MDs on treatment plans and options.
Undergraduate researcher at The Good Lab. Focusing on Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC) in neonatal infants to map pathways and signaling proteins that can cause this disease. Using neonatal murine models inoculated to harbor NEC we research histological and transcriptional elements associated. Additionally, we perform NEC research and mapping on human samples derived from infants within the UNC NCCC (Neonatal Critical Care Center).
Medical/Clinical Lab Skills: Performing numerous medical research lab techniques. Including PCR, human sample analysis, gel electrophoresis, murine model management, NECteria formulation, histological analysis, imaging, enteroid/organoid procedures.
Project 1: Solution-Processable Bio-Inspired Smart Skin for Synergistic Solar and Radiative Heat Management. Manuscript submitted to Science AAAS (Co-Author) and Co-Authored in Nature Photonics.
Project 2: Developing a novel drug and delivery system with a permanent reservoir designed for insertion into the human body. This reservoir will enable the controlled release of drugs, which are tailored for the treatment of a chronic illness of our choice.
Observership under Max Super Specialty Hospital, Patparganj, Head of Department (General and Laparoscopic Surgery). Including patient rounds, consultation, and surgical procedures within the OT. 50+ hours.
Gained over 100 hours of clinical observations in the emergency department. Aided RN and CNA with basic medical procedures, such as helping in cardiac lead placement, IV setup, blood pressure, and vital monitoring.
