I am proud to serve as a Correctional Officer with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, where I have had the opportunity to protect my community, uphold the law, and treat others with professionalism and respect. This career has strengthened my integrity, discipline, and commitment to public service. While I truly value and enjoy my role, I am eager to continue growing in law enforcement by becoming a U.S. Border Patrol Agent. I am passionate about serving our nation and helping protect the country I love by safeguarding our borders and ensuring the safety and security of our communities.
As a Correctional Officer with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, I perform physical searches of inmates, their housing areas, and personal property to detect weapons, contraband, and other prohibited items. I maintain the safety and security of the correctional facility by supervising inmates, responding to emergencies, physically restraining combative individuals when necessary, and enforcing federal, state, and local laws and facility policies. I prepare detailed incident and disciplinary reports, collect and document evidence, maintain proficiency with department-issued firearms, and work closely with law enforcement agencies during investigations, inmate transports, and criminal proceedings.
