Summary

Years of experience in various positions of leadership from that of Critical Care Nurse to Pet Care business owner to my current job as a front desk patient navigator have honed and refined my ability to work with, communicate and educate others. I feel I received an enormous education in working with EKGs during my years as a Critical Care/ER nurse. From practical instructions on how to operate equipment to how to interpret what we're seeing on an ekg or telemetry monitor both during a crisis as well as during daily routine patient care. I routinely mentored new nurses on the how and what of EKG interpretation and what appropriate actions to take. As the evening charge nurse I often participated in emergency/code situation throughout the hospital working with the medical house staff to deliver emergent care in as calm and efficient a way as possible while directing those around me as needed. It has been awhile since I left nursing but the EKG Technician program I just completed in Mrs. Dietz's class here at BOCES definitely brought it all back plus I've learned so much more. I look forward to being able to pass some of my knowledge and enthusiasm onto a new generation. Thank you for your consideration.
