• RN came to PeaceHealth in March 2022 as a Home Health travel nurse. After the contract ended, RN continued to work as a permanent employee to help establish hospice services in Ketchikan. RN left for a travel nursing contract once PeaceHealth Hospice was certified.

• Anchorage was my first travel nursing location in Alaska. After completing my contract, I returned to Anchorage to assist the company through the winter, due to a staff shortage.

• Teton Valley is situated on the Wyoming-Idaho border, home to the Grand Teton Mountains. I worked as a home health and hospice nurse for the entire valley. Often, companies would pull their services when the 7,000-foot elevation became isolated due to snow, ice, and wind. The RN changed companies to ensure the continued availability of much-needed, home-based services.

• Nurses did everything in this small, rural hospital! Emergency room, inpatient, outpatient, transitional care, postsurgical, infusion, wound care, hospice, limited pharmacy (prepare IV medications), plus performed CNA duties, registration, coding, billing, and housekeeping! Patients were stabilized and transported via ambulance or by air to a higher level of care.
• Ambulance RN when a paramedic was not available for transport.

• I worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the Postpartum department during my time in nursing school for three years. The CNA attended to babies, completed hearing tests and newborn screenings, and assisted providers with circumcisions.
• As an RN, I assessed mothers and babies, educated parents on infant care, assisted with breastfeeding, and administered vaccines.
