As Operations Manager for the last eight years, I have assisted the Chief of Operations on many levels. My main focus other than day to day duties inside City Hall has been the formation of our Incident Management Team (IMT) and work with the State of Alabama and Jefferson County Emergency Management Agencies. Along those lines, I have mantained an excellent relationship with Federal partners such as the FBI and The United States Secret Service.
In the past years of service I have had roles in the formation of Railroad Park, the formation of and lobbing for our National Monument and am currently working on the 2027 Congressional Medal of Honor Convention.
In my twenty-five plus years of service it has been my privilege and honor to have been involved in many events and endeavors that have greatly enhanced the standing of our city and regions. It has also been my great honor to service in times of trouble and tragedy.
Some of the things that i have had the honor of being involved in are the formation of Railroad Park, the building of Regions Field, the formation of Warming Stations for our people unhoused, the reconstruction of Pratt City after the April 27th tornadoes, the 50th and 60th anniversary celebrations of the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing, National Veterans Day celebrations, traveling to Ukraine with the US-Ukraine Foundation to help improve their communities, and being part of the team to lobby for our National Monument in the Civil Rights District. There are many more.
Most recently, maybe my greatest accomplishments in my tenure here are the formation of our Incident Management Team and the successful bid to bring the 2027 Congressional Medal of Honor Convention to our city. The formation of our IMT has also paid dividends in the way we approach events such as The World Games, The World Police and Fire Games and The Magic City. While not a money maker the 2027 CMoH Convention will bring great recognition to our city as we honor our heroes.
