As a Senior Officer on the day shift, I perform these security and safety related duties: Patrol building/grounds and report unusual situations or unauthorized individuals, respond to alarm conditions and provide emergency services, monitor surveillance equipment, intercoms, telephones, radios, and other specialized equipment
I Monitor Bank departments for safety or security violations and report the findings to my department management
I may conduct initial investigations into accidents and incidents, make proper notifications, and perform follow up duties as directed by supervision
Prepare appropriate shift reports, incident/accident reports and other required paperwork as necessary
I exhibit spontaneous sound/reasonable judgment over life safety issues, discretely handling detected weapons and/or explosive devices with x-ray equipment and I properly handle sensitive information and incidents
Control pedestrian and vehicle access to the facility through use of screening equipment to detect unauthorized items prior to entry on Bank property, inspect vehicles entering security sensitive areas for unauthorized personnel or contents, monitor and authorize visitors accessing Bank facilities and record visitor's data on the appropriate logs
I'm proficient in the use of personal computers (PC) and related software necessary to perform my job functions
As needed, I may participate in special assignments to protect dignitaries of a Federal Reserve Bank or the Board of Governors
I served two years as a Sergeant on the day shift and three years as a Staff Sergeant on the afternoon shift with twenty-five Officers under my command.
