Summary

In my work with the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, the leading non-profit in addiction and mental health services, I assisted the Head Librarian for a year. I worked on numerous projects, including answering research questions and cataloging different forms of media to make them accessible on the Hazelden research database. Over the course of the same year, I volunteered at one of the Hazelden inpatient facilities in Newberg, Oregon. I worked in the bookstore and assisted both the customers and the employees I reported to. Working as a tutor has allowed me to help kids, mainly from 11-14, build confidence in their learning and grow a stronger appreciation for their work. I am a fast learner with a deep appreciation for literature, art, and history, and I am in the process of turning my passions into a future career.
