With 20 years of oil and gas experience in the field following a large variety of safety programs from drilling rigs to pipeline there's plenty of relatable work experience I could go on about as to why I think I would be a good fit from experiences and ability to communicate with the field guys but I'd rather explain WHY I'm applying for this position.
In March of 2016 I lost a father figure and best friend to a work incident that was 100% avoidable. An "it's fine I will only be second" incident that turned into a lifetime. I don't want someone else to get that phone call and have to carry that casket over something so reckless and avoidable.
