Accomplishments

    Professional achievement as boat search and rescue swimmer onboard USS Green Bay (LPD 20) on 05 August 2017. During flight operations, an MV-22 Osprey crashed into the water alongside the ship. In recovery operations days following, Petty Officer Babcock was launched in the RHIB with a crew for continued efforts to search for three missing marines and recover remaining MV-22 debris from the water. In the week following he was also in constant support of HMAS Melville and their diving operations for recovery and transportation of the deceased members and diver and diving gear recovery. Petty officer Babcock's outstanding performance and loyal devotion to duty reflected great credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
