- Stepped into an acting manager role during busy season working with clients in the Financial Services industry, specifically Multilateral Financial Institutions, Private Equity firms, Venture Capital firms, Hedge Funds, and Financial Regulatory bodies. Key technical accounting experience relevant to these clients is substantially identical to the ASC standards, SEC regulations, and SOX control considerations included in my role description with PricewaterhouseCoopers (below).
- In my capacity as Acting Manager, I continued to report directly to the engagement partner on each audit and was the final reviewer for workpapers that do not explicitly require final review by the engagement partner.
- In order to provide quantifiable efficiencies to my audits and outperform other audit firms competing for our clients, I automated eight different complex areas of our audit testing (including both control testing and substantive testing areas), and taught my senior and associate staff how to utilize each automation to avoid key person risk, to leverage down our budgetary cost to our less expensive staff team members, and to ensure that the knowledge is retained and implemented indefinitely during future audit periods.
- As a result of these efforts, we successfully retained the audit work on my two primary clients for the next 10 years (as both clients renewed their contracts with us). Further, by successfully implementing my eight automated testing workflows, I was able to generate roughly 100 hours of net time savings in the first year of use (including consideration of the time I spent coding each automation). We reaped additional cost savings on the hours spent testing with these automations, given that the testing hours were primarily incurred by lower cost senior and associate level staff.

- Spent 6 years in the audit practice, primarily working with clients in the Financial Services industry and Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSE’s); 2.5 years of experience at the Senior Associate level. Core audit intern during the summer of 2016.
- Primarily clientele included both large-accelerated SEC filing public companies and private entities within the Depository Banking, Private Equity, Venture Capital, Investment Banking/Management, and REIT sectors. Technical experience also includes commercial and multifamily real estate funding, real estate construction and development, and ongoing in-service hotel, retail, residential, and commercial real estate projects.
- Ensured appropriate adoption and implementation of technical accounting standards including Lease accounting (ASC 842), Revenue recognition from contracts with customers (ASC 606) Derivative hedge accounting (ASC 815), Investment portfolios and investment valuation (ASC 820), mortgage servicing rights (MSR’s), Accounting considerations for significant acquisitions (ASC 805), accounting for equity securities (ASC 321), debt securities (ASC 320), loans and other receivables, including modifications and restructurings (ASC 310) and how to apply the credit loss standard (ASC 326) to each of these varieties of financial instruments, amongst other key accounting standards.
- Heavily involved in SOX 404 control compliance testing, control execution procedures, and implementation of new key control processes by clients, as well as the clients operational cash management processes, risk management frameworks, internal control structures, debt and equity placements, and SEC registrant financial reporting.
- Operated in an Acting Manager role during the FY2023 fiscal year (8 months). In this role, I reported directly to the engagement partner on each audit, as the final reviewer on all workpapers that did not explicitly require final review by the engagement partner.
- Member of the PwC National Pursuits Team based on a uniquely extensive skillset building and presenting unique digital/automated AI and RPA solutions to potential clients, as part of the industry standard RFP (proposal) process. Additionally, in this role I was responsible for implementing complex digital solutions on existing client across our market, as well as training PwC audit team members to understand and create additional automated solutions independently moving forward.
