
I am a very motivated and compasionate individual with a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from Juniata College. At Juniata I was a member of the Football team for four years as well as a Graduate Assistant at Widener University for one year which has allowed me to grow and demonstrate my leadership and teamwork skills. I am currently in the process of completing my Masters degree in Clinical Counseling at Widener University. I currently serve as a Secondary Case Manager at River Rock Academy, with prior roles as both a Secondary and Elementary Behavior Coach. I am skilled in student engagement, crisis intervention, and team collaboration, with a strong ability to build positive rapport with students and staff creating a safe and welcoming environment. I am a certified Safe Crisis Management Instructor allowing me to train staff members to support student well-being and effectively handling high-pressure situations.
Mentor and guide students both individually and in a group setting to counsel and provide support for their specific needs. Build positive relationships with students and families to help support individuals in school and out of school. Keep up to date records of counseling sessions and topics discussed with students. Interact with outside agencies to provide additional support to student success outside of the school setting. Participate in all necessary meetings and complete all necessary paperwork involved (IEP, Periodic Reviews, Student Transition). Create and maintain a welcoming and safe environment to enhance student and staff success. Work alongside other staff members to communicate and collaborate on student needs and provide support when appropriate.
Work with students to problem-solve and process their behaviors. Hold students accountable for their actions to help mentor and guide them towards positive decision making in the community and school settings. Create and ensure a safe environment for all students and staff, provide safety for students and staff by intervening in emergency and crisis situations. Utilize conflict resolution skills in order to maintain a safe environment through professional training.
Coached the tight end position, and worked with the offensive coaching staff on game-planning, running practice, and film study, as well as other organizational matters.
Conducted and ran a research study focusing on the use of mindfulness for athletes and the positive effects it has on their mental health. Researched and discussed several topics around mental health.
