• As Sergeant, assigns work duties to subordinate officers and have overall responsibility for 200 inmates, and work crew performance and compliance; ensures all inmates are accounted for during institutional counts; records complaints and takes appropriate action for resolution, including elevation to upper level manager or by individual action; communication conduit between subordinate officers, inmates and upper level correction facility management; establishes and maintains control of correctional facility perimeter; maintains official record of all activities occurring within each shift
• Responsible for training subordinate officers in relevant work duties, record keeping and correctional facility protocols

• Respond to correctional emergencies, escapes, and inmate disturbances in present facility and other facilities across the state of Oklahoma

• Escort minimum security inmates across the state for medical appointments and surgical procedures, as well as performing transports from segregated housing units to other facilities in Oklahoma

• Supervised inmate work crews across the facility: enforced rules and regulations among the population, conducted institutional counts, assigned to specific units for daily supervisory tasks, kept and maintained a daily logbook of inmate activity
