As a Human Services Specialist:
• Interviewing customers for determination of eligibility based on application of the rules and regulations that govern the applied for programs
• Computing and ensuring the accuracy of benefits issued
• Processing cases accurately and timely
• Granting or denying cases when appropriate, and in a timely manner
• Interacting with all automated systems
• Compiling and submitting accurate statistical and intake log data
• Maintaining and reviewing Cal SAWS tasks in a timely manner

As Human Services Specialist (HSS) Training Advisor (TA):
Teaching/coaching/guiding new HSS trainees through all the above bullet points of an HSS, along with:
· Reviewing of all daily assigned intakes, workflow reviews, Verification Check Lists (VCL) checks, and case comment review/posted for the trainees.
· Reviewing trainees case comments and providing feedback to aim for 100% accuracy.
· Reviewing VCLs to ensure that the trainees are filing them out correctly and get mailed out timely.
· Assisting trainees with understanding Program Guide and answering/clarifying any questions.
· Keeping an up to date log of the trainees intakes, to ensure case comments, VCLs and case dispositions get tracked correctly.
· Assisting trainees with reviewing and troubleshooting EDBC results for correct benefits and aid codes.
· Providing weekly powerpoint presentations to the trainees on important program topics.
· Daily communication with the Unit Supervisor on HSS trainees progress
