I have approximately 16 years of experience working in the Mental Health Field. I was recognized for my lead role in an emergency drill and coordinating and moving the Day Treatment Project (DTP) from one area of ASH to another area with no problems. DTP evolved into Recovery Mall services where I worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor providing assessment evaluation for Stage of Change, teach classes, provide support, notes for treatment team, and resources for individual discharge. I monitored for safety, worked in the library, and encouraged individuals to participate in activities (tai chi, Qigong, Yoga, religion, grounding techniques, art, and classes that other disciplines would provide), and exercise. During my time at ASH I have performed intake for new admits, acting supervisor, staffing for 4 units (a program), assigning duties for shift, auditing medical charts, training new employees/ students, and Medication Nursing. I was able to learn firsthand from the changes from DOJ and JACHO. I have worked with sexual violent predators, learning disabilities, and mentally ill. I have good boundaries and therapeutic relationships which helps to maintain a peaceful environment. As a caregiver for Dementia and RFID I have helped with ADL'S, nutrition, appointments, and finances. I provided transportation, managed several schedules at the same time, deescaltion of different situations, respond to medical emergencies, medication, time management, and good communication.
