Good Catch Award Q4 2022 presented by Harris Health System

When a patient presented for oral surgery procedure, I took the proper step to ensure the patient's safety. Before giving the patient moderate sedation, I paused to check the providers credentials as I have not previously worked with her. In doing so, I found the provider was not credentialed to initiate moderate sedation.

I felt empowered to stop the line before the procedure started. The patient procedure was cancelled and was rescheduled.
