  • Needed to weld root pass on big cylinder tank (2g) before doing root pass connecting top and bottom (domes) to cylinder (3g downhill). Done on machine operated rollers at slow speeds
  • You weld all material into place that's needed ONLY on the inside before testing. Tank is needed to be tested at 85 psi. Then sit for 8hrs. If passed (within 4 psi) you continue build.
  • Throughout the build we will do a root pass with hard wire and a cover pass with flux. For bigger tanks we will do a root and fill pass with hardwire then top it off with a cover pass of flux
  • Sandpods (1.5k) or smaller, 1.5ks, 3s, 5k, and 10ks are the size cylinder tanks we build.
  • Pad flanges, tie down lugs, manways, and couplers get welded to the dome while couplers, through walls, manways, bleeder brackets, and legs get welded to the cylinder and overall tank
  • Became very skillful in 3g uphill with flux .045
  • Welding processes used throughout the entire build of the tank is flux core (.045), hard wire (.035), 309 flux (.045), and tig welding
  • Used positioner for various different weld uses
  • Built various different size skids. All for the tanks to sit on as a platform. Sandpods is where multiple small tanks are on one skid
