1. Manages, usually with the assistance of subordinate supervisors, the activities of a medium-size station or branch,
providing delivery and collection services, window and box services, mail distribution and dispatch, and the processing or
sale of nonpostal products.
2. May manage certain postal operations extending beyond the normal delivery area, such as, parcel post delivery, special
delivery, collections, and mail distribution.
3. Manages a large work force; may have a small- to medium-size subordinate supervisory staff, composed of general and
specific functional area supervisors.
4. Determines staffing requirements based on the mail volume to be processed; plans the tour work schedules; adjusts the
work force schedules according to variances in actual mail volume.
