  • Responsible for reviewing all incoming property, boiler & machinery, cyber theft, and fidelity claims for subrogation potential, directing counsel, ensuring they adhere to the guidelines in place, and monitoring budgets for all expert, counsel and vendor costs related to subrogation. My inventory varies from 500 to 1,000 files.
  • Review all Large Loss Notices.
  • Report quarterly subrogation updates for all current matters exceeding $2,000,000 to CEO.
  • As the sole member of the Property Subrogation Department, I support two managers and twelve property examiners by training my peers in the Property Department, developing theories of recovery, identifying all potential targets, and when cases settle, reviewing and revising releases so that they properly protect company and client interests. Recovery theories involve manufacturing defects, construction defects, failure to perform contractual maintenance and repair duties. Losses pursued include large building fires, water losses, elevator claims, cyber theft, and fidelity claims.
  • Key responsibilities include litigation management of eleven attorneys in eleven states, lease, house rule and bylaw reviews, reviewing cause and origin concerns, negotiating direct settlements, and developing payment plans, notify Loss Control of conditions that warrant review and update underwriting and brokers on case progress.
