• Collaborated with students from socioeconomically challenged backgrounds to complete homework assignments, identify lagging skills, and correct weaknesses – with a focus on math and science.
• Motivated students towards learning and studying to build self-confidence and reduce fear of failure.

Worked for two summers in the lab of Dr. John Latham as a high school student. After the first summer volunteering in the lab, Dr. Latham applied and received NIH funding for my role in the lab based on my prior summer's tuberculosis research.

• Assisted with lab studies of the biosynthetic pathways of mycofactocin (MFT) in M. tuberculosis. Worked with graduate students at the University of Denver.
• Adhered to laboratory safety procedures to maintain compliance with quality control standards.
• Prepared reagents and solutions following formulas and procedures.
• Prepared samples for analysis by preforming complex sample preparation tasks.
• Learned how to use complicated and high end lab equipment.
