Top Soccer is a soccer organization for kids with Down Syndrome. As I volunteer I worked with kids one-on-one to teach drills, play scrimmage, and just kick soccer balls around. Through this I learned to create a supportive and fun environment for people who have less access to a space like that.
The support group, entitled WEB aka where everyone belongs, helped incoming students have a support system through the stressful transition of starting middle school through partner leadership. This was achieved through monthly activity meetings. As a leader, I came up with activities, was in charge of organizing meetings, made posters, and connected with new students. In addition a monthly "Student of the Month" event was held where a select group of students I was part of organized, decorated, and ran the event.
In addition to being a TA in high school, I also was a math tutor for one year. I was involved in theatre all four years of high school where I built collaborative skills and adapted to various positions throughout production.
