  • Primary Function: To assist the QA supervisor in managing the quality and food safety systems at the plan level which includes all policies, programs, and procedures. The QA lead technician will have Primary responsibilities of monitoring the HACCP Programs, GMP'S, SSOP Programs, Paperwork accuracy and Filing. Enforcement of product specifications. In addition QA Lead technician responsibilities tasks that QA management deems necessary.
  • Essential Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • 1. Assist in the plant to insure regulatory compliance for all HACCP Programs.
  • 2. GMP'S:
  • A. Monitor GMP'S in the plant and assures strict adherence to the program.
  • B. Records deficiencies and reports these deficiencies to the QA Supervisor and Plant Manager.
  • C. Communicates these deficiencies to line personnel in a stern but respectful manner.
  • 1. SSOP Programs
  • A. Monitor all SSOP Programs in the plant to insure regulatory compliance and food safety.
  • B. Records deficiencies to the QA Supervisor and Plant Manager.
  • C. Communicates these deficiencies to sanitation personnel (operational).
  • 1. Paperwork Accuracy and Filing:
  • A. Monitors all other QA technicians ability to record data accurately and legible.
  • B. Corrects paperwork issues as they occur and explains this to the technician.
  • C. Files all paperwork in accordance with the QA Supervisors direction.
  • 1. Enforcement of QA Programs:
  • A. Audits all QA Programs in the plant.
  • Enforces Programs in the plant
  • Corrects all issues and makes sure proper corrective actions takes place
  • Follows up on issues and makes sure proper corrective actions take place
  • Communicates these issues to QA Supervisor and Plant Manager.
  • 1. Enforcement of product specifications:
  • A. Monitors all products through the process (includes RAW & RTE)
  • B. Verifies that product are within the specifications.
  • C. Communicates these deviations to production personnel in a stern but respectful manner.
  • D. Communicates these deviations QA Supervisor and Plant Manager.
  • E. Communicates any changes needed to specifications to QA Supervisor.
  • 1. Scorecards:
  • A. Making sure that the scorecards are sent out to suppliers within 24 hours or next business day of load completion.
  • B. The scorecard log is being kept up on a regular basis.
  • C. Information is being shared with corporate as needed.
  • 1. Swabbing:
  • A. Setting up and labeling of swabs for the days testing.
  • B. Double checking swabs/sponges to make sure all swabs/sponges were taken.
  • 1. Internal Auditing
  • A. Responsible for being a part of the Auditing process.
  • B. Follow up on unacceptable results during audits.
  • C. Commutation between departments on an issue that arise.
