Emily Bourn

Im currently a student at Brandon High school. The courses I've taken have well prepared me for the opportunity to be a finance intern for road commission in oakland county. I study STEM as well as take many math classes such as AP Statistics and Finance. I have always been very heavily involved in the food industry for work since the age of 15. At a young age I've learned to handle stressful situations with people and handle the situations calmly and efficiently. Working in food service I've become very skilled at multitasking and working in teams. I enjoy fast paced work and can take directions and handle tasks very well!

As an athlete I've achieved many accomplishments. This past year I was rewarded with MVP as 1st team flint metro league this past High school soccer season. All three years of my high school soccer career I've been rewarded with 3rd, 2nd, and 1st team for flint metro league, with each coming year I achieve greater accomplishments through my high school soccer program.

Within my School I am a part of link crew. Link crew is a class that pushes students to go outside of their comfort zones, enhance their leadership skills, and lead the incoming freshman classes. As a member of link crew my goal is to guide the freshman and make them comfortable in the new environment of high school. Each day Im pushed outside of my own comfort zone, presenting in front of whole classes, speaking to groups of people I've never meant before or presenting ideas to our school staff to make brandon a more positive, an enjoyable environment for our students. 

My hobbies consist of tracking and buying stocks, I currently own over a hundred shares of stocks between different companies like apple. I also play travel and school soccer year around with the intention of playing in college. My two favorite things to do on my free time are crocheting and gardening. This past year I've taught myself to crochet blankets, bags, and plushies. I also built myself a garden, which then lead me to teach myself how to preserve and can all different types of fruits and vegetables in order to help my family save money on groceries!
