Parent Relations

Studies show schools that have high parent involvement tend to have more successful students. I agree and feel that education is a community effort that takes parents and teachers. I feel that parents should be encouraged to be a part of their student's education.

Classroom Management

Children need structure and consistency. I believe that students need to know what is expected from them and what the consequences are for their choices, both good and bad.

Teaching Philosophy

The world today is diverse in every situation and the classroom is no different. Society teaches us to treat everyone the same. In a classroom, everyone has the same rights, but it is important to remember that each person is very different. A good teacher keeps this in the forefront of their mind at all times, embracing the different cultures and learning styles and using them to her advantage. As an instructional specialist, I treat all of my students and teachers with the same respect. I understand that each person has a set of own strengths and weaknesses, but all are capable of learning and growth. I have high expectations for all learners and their ability to learn lies with me.
