Accomplishments

I was a Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) crewmember for three years in a row as a teenager. I worked at York River State Park, Sky Meadows State Park, and Grayson Highlands State Park in the summers of 2017, 2018, and 2019 respectively. I participated in much outdoor work to improve the park, including trail construction and restoration, landscaping, laying concrete, building fences, constructing park signs, painting, and other projects. I gained experience working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and I developed skills in teamwork and working with diverse groups of people. My crewmembers and I were sometimes very different from one another, but we still found ways to connect and work together.
