Emma Scarantine

As a patient care technician, I use my skills from nursing school, in addition to skills that I was trained on during my orientation. I obtain vitals, assist patients with ADLs, collect urine and stool specimens, bladder scan patients, report changes in patient status to the nurse, and perform ekgs.

• I have had clinical experience starting in the fall of my sophomore year of the Gannon University nursing program and am continuing to have clinicals two times a week as a junior going to be a senior in the program
• I have done clinicals for Health Assessment 1, Health Assessment 2, Nursing Prac Comp, Adult 1, Healthy Childbearing
• I have just completed clinicals this semester for Older Adult and Pediatrics

• During my shifts, I cashed and bagged customers' grocery orders
• I organized the front end
• I also did returns of the items that customers did not want
• During the covid pandemic I cleaned carts and the front end

• During my shifts, I was a waitress to the cabanas that were in the waterpark at Six Flags Darien Lake
• If the customers chose food service, I would check in on them frequently and see what food/beverages that they wanted
• I would enter the food/beverages that they ordered into the computer system so later they could pay for what they ordered at the counter in the shop
• In the beginning of my shift, I would fill up the buckets that came with the bottled water for each cabana
• At the end of my shift, I would clean up all the cabanas I served and empty all the garbage cans in that area
• If my co-workers needed help cleaning their cabanas, I would help out with that

• During my shifts, I did a variety of different jobs
• I cleaned carts, kept count of customers coming in and out of the store, I recovered and stocked clothes that have been returned and I also worked on stocking new merchandise
