I believe I am well-suited to take on the responsibilities of this critical position. I have worked approximately fourteen out the fifteen years and eight months at Old Colony Correctional Center, as an officer, Sergeant and now Lieutenant. The extensive experience I have as a security professional, as well as a year and three months of experience in the Inner Perimeter Security Sergeant position at Old Colony Correctional Center, make me familiar with the responsibilities and challenges involved in managing the Inner Perimeter Security Team. This has equipped me with the necessary qualifications, skills, and leadership abilities to excel in the position of Inner Perimeter Security Commander and contribute significantly to the safety and security of the facility.
My supervisory experience consists of demonstrating the ability to effectively manage a team of officers, delegate tasks, provide guidance and training, and ensuring the adherence to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations of the facility. I have a year and three months of experience in the Inner Perimeter Security Sergeant position, making me familiar with the responsibilities and challenges involved in managing the Inner Perimeter Security Team.
● I am fluent in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish.
~ I utilized this skill to interpret phone calls, emails, and letters which is an asset to the facility due to the high population of Spanish speaking incarcerated individuals.
● Gained extensive experience as Inner Perimeter Security Sergeant, mastering responsibilities and challenges of managing security team.
~ As a supervisor on the Inner Perimeter Security Team, I assign daily duties, investigations, and reviewed written reports of the officers on the team. I assisted with the information for the morning briefing meetings, team meetings, briefing summaries and after-action reports.
● I served as the Criminal Prosecution Unit Liaison of the Inner Perimeter Security Team.
● I also served as the back up to the Sanctioned Disciplinary Urine Officer.
