Staff sergeants are the primary trainers of soldiers. Sergeant’s Time Training (STT) provided scheduled prime opportunity for developing a legacy of first year leaders while they gain confidence of their soldiers. Some active component institute STT as a regular part of the units training program. to train certain tasks to their soldiers in a small group environment. All tasks meeting the Battalion Mission Essential Task List (METL) directly focused on the Quarterly Training Guidance.

As staff sergeant overseen equipment, property, and developed soldier’s full range of potential. Training each soldier according to their individual Military Occupation Skill (MOS) choice, all while enforcing the military standards and lead many unit missions. Duties as staff sergeant was the continued successful development of soldiers working under the leadership in the section, squad or team.
