I started at Applebee’s as a Host, where I greeted and seated guests, cleaned tables, and helped with food running and to-go orders. After four months I was promoted to Carside Pickup, where I polished my knowledge of the menu, learned all the ingredients, and kitchen rules. After four more months I became a Server and had been working in that role ever since. Serving has been a very fun experience, since I got to interact with guests directly for long periods of time, especially during double shifts. I made friends with regulars, learned server coworker etiquette, and was even asked to become a key manager. I had to leave Applebee’s because I was moving to New York for college.
Gained knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to food service industry.
Have been awarded employee of the month two years in a row.
