  • On the receiving crew we handle all incoming product into the warehouse, scan them in, re-tag and put them away. But receiving is not just limited to bringing in new product, our team is also partially responsible for cutting carpet and vinyl to customer specs, tag it, and send it all over New England to our customers.

Lead Machine Operator

  • A line is a machine composed of smaller machines that run in unison to create unified rolls of fabric from raw material. Materials that are run and created range from mattress pad, all the way to aerospace and Kevlar.
  • It's the duty of the line operator to create in spec material with a provided set up sheet or material blueprint, and sometimes a manufacturer's card.
  • One operator is responsible for the entirety of his/her line. set up, width checks, thickness checks, troubleshooting as problems arise (dry/wet fiber, static, humidity, Emergency stops, some mechanical repair, final inspection.)
  • Ability to perform all duties with little to no supervision.
  • Responsible for cleaning entire line and surrounding work area of all foreign fibers and contamination.
  • (Lines can be running black fiber one day then white the next). Depending the line cleans can range from 2-24 hours.
  • When running; responsibilities consist of width checks, thickness checks, drafting, layer count, feed changes, PSI checks, and making sure product is F.O.D. free, and staying within product specs.
  • Change overs to different styles on the fly, and from a blank set up/product blueprint.
  • Proficient in reading and using basic hand tools, power, and air tools.
  • Wrenches, drills, tape measures, scissors, electric trimmers, industrial sewing machine/ butt-seamer, air tools, table saw, jigsaw etc., fork truck (forks, pole, clamp. some experience on Electric trucks.) thickness gauges (10oz, 2oz, and 1oz).
  • 42 hour Shift schedule consist of three 12-hour shifts and one 6 hour shift. Four shifts(weekdays, week nights, weekends, and weekend nights. Line operators are required to perform the duties and responsibilities of NPD / R&D and Final inspection for the product before and after it leaves the line.
  • Recording and entering data both on paper and into the computer system.
  • Training in ISO and auditing.
  • First responder. (CPR,AED,FIRST AID)
  • Trained in proper PPE (masks glasses, hearing protection, and suits.)
  • Work hand in hand with NPD/R&D to develop new trials and styles for companies such as NASA BOEING and SPACE EX.
