My name is Ethan Jia Inouye, and I come from a multicultural heritage that is three-quarters Chinese and one-quarter Japanese. My last name, Inouye, reflects my Japanese roots in the rural parts of Fukuoka, Japan, while my middle name, Jia, honors my grandfather who immigrated from the industrial city of Beijing, China. As the eldest of four siblings, I was raised in a family that instilled in me the values of love, forgiveness, perseverance, faith, honesty, and resilience. These principles guide my aspirations to serve underprivileged communities, providing them with the same opportunities I have been given. With this foundation, I am dedicated to pursuing a career in medicine and ultimately becoming a physician committed to service and equity.
