  • My position allowed me to work the front desk as well as actual job as med tech/EMT.
  • Duties included booking and rescheduling patients, ordering labs, ordering and administrating medications within my scope of practice, filing paperwork for active duty members to be on profiles/ waivers and medical leave, obtaining vital signs and patient's medical history as well as medication history, updating patient charts online, cleaning and keeping of exam rooms, administrating shots at immunization clinic at times.
  • Obtaining PFTs ( Pulmonary Function Testing), EKG's.
  • Suture/Staples removal, assisting in general procedures such as IUD's placement/removal, Nexplanon placement/removal, toe nail removal procedures and administering DEPO shot as well as charting procedures and obtaining consent forms from patients.
  • Additional duties consisted of Supply custodian and Infection control.

Writing

In my off time, when I can, I like to write poetry. A lot of my poetry is about mental health, I write to express how I think depression and anxiety feel like to others. My poetry helps others identify and express themselves when they themselves do not have the words to say how they feel.
