• In-situ monitoring methods for polymer-based additive manufacturing: In this part, I investigated two defects in raw polymer feedstock fed into the fused deposition modeling additive manufacturing, void, and moisture content, that both of them will affect the quality and mechanical performance of the final products. This part resulted in two peer-reviewd conference papers and two journal publications. One of the conference paper that was presented as a poster awarded as the second-best poster.
• In-situ monitoring of metal-based additive manufacturing: in this research, an electromagnetic model was developed based on the existing literature to calculate the scattering parameters of a cloud of particles ejected during the laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) additive manufacturing process. This research up tp now has resulted to one peer-review conference paper. A journal paper is going to submit very soon.
• Improving sensitivity of microwave methods to moisture detection: In this research, a new structure was proposed to increase the sensitivity of moisture detection by confining the electric field distribution.
