Learned and applied foundational nursing skills while caring for elderly residents in a long-term care setting. Practiced vital signs monitoring, feeding assistance (including enteral/tube feeding), and personal hygiene care. Administered medications under the supervision of an LPN, and engaged in therapeutic communication. Built a strong rapport with residents through daily interactions, recreational activities, and collaborative care. Developed an understanding of geriatric needs and the importance of holistic, person-centered care.
