After college I entered the US Air Force. I got married while in USAF and we had a son. We relocated to Lexington, KY. We've been married for over 39 years. I retired from the Kentucky Department of Finance in December, 2023.
Worked in Individual Income tax for ten years. Created bills for non-filing taxpayers as well as taxpayers that filed with un-reported income. Processed returns and assisted taxpayers in creating pay agreements with our Collections department.
Worked in Miscellaneous Income tax for three years. I was solely responsible for monitoring returns for approximately 650 Health Care Providers and 250 Ground Ambulance Providers. Created bills and new accounts as necessary. Submitted quarterly reports which were shared by the Finance Cabinet and the Cabinet for Health and Family Services
I consistently received Outstanding ratings in all my performance reviews.
Oversaw and scheduled housekeeping and laundry personnel at a long term healthcare facility. Responsible for payroll, supply ordering and inventory, quality control, hiring and training.
Entered and monitored representative payee applications and accounting. Processed applications for new and replacement Social Security cards for citizens and lawful aliens.
Monitored wage earnings and living arrangements of Social Security and Supplemental Security income beneficiaries.
Entered and monitored large volume customer warranties. Resolved warranty issues for end-user customers, resellers and distributors. Trained new personnel on company policies and procedures. Monitored department hardware resources.
Some of my earliest memories involve reading. Learning to read and discovering libraries. I read one book per week, except when I read a bit more.
I've run since I was in high school. I started racing in 5Ks and four milers approximately 20 years ago. I've run in ten states and over thirty counties since that time with a 60% medal rate.
