Working with clients has given me experience in building cases, developing treatment plans, and assisting individuals to enhance their interpersonal skills. Studying psychology led to a deeper understanding of how mental health, development, emotions, and experiences shape lives, which naturally transitioned into a passion for social work as it relates to human behavior. Advocating for clients is a skill developed through higher education and volunteer work at the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), a non-profit organization. I am currently advocating for clients through promoting a bill which would increase access to mental health services by expanding Medicaid coverage of behavioral health services.
