  • I am responsible for verifying that finished lenses are ground to specifications. I prepare work orders. I accurately obtain precise measurements of the clients’ Bridge of Eye Size, Temple Length, Vertex and Pupillary Distance, and Optical Centers of the Eyes using different corresponding devices. I continuously and efficiently heat, shape, and bend both plastic and metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit each of the clients’ measurements using my hands and pliers. I provide assistance to clients aiding with the selection of frames according to style, color, and pricing. I also ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements, and optical prescriptions. I am responsible for maintaining, filing, and organizing customer prescriptions, work orders, and payment records. I sell company products as well as other recommended products to suite each individual client and their specific needs. I educate clients of the wear and care of such products. I am responsible of supervising the training of all newly hired Opticians. I answer and handle the Vision Center phone calls, and I arrange and maintain the displays of the optical merchandise.
