• Repair and prepare greenhouses after damaged from wind.
• Recycle unused soil and materials.
• Understand how fertilizer and specific nutrients affect soil and plants.

Company Overview: Start up lab was bought by a larger lab from Sacramento.

• Worked closely with the lab director/management to prioritize daily tasks, plan and execute method development to optimize validated methods, and ensure results were reported before 72 hour deadlines
• Helped with Quality Control by reviewing data packs were up to state regulations, checking instrument logbooks, assisted in writing SOP's and getting ISO accreditation
• Assisted lab staff with batch issues such as QC sample failures and enforced the SOP's in appropriate situations
• Created career development plans with lab staff and performed necessary training to help them achieve their goals
• Effectively communicate with lab staff about changes in plans such as rushed orders and assisted to meet those quicker turnaround times
• Helped developed the training system plus other procedures such as daily instrument/equipment and inventory checks
• Helped built client relationships
• Performed advanced maintenance on GCMS, LCMS, and ICPMS instruments.
• Lead Chemical Analyst for Pesticides on LCMS but could perform all other chemical analysis and responsibilities in the lab.

Company Overview: This was a start-up lab, so we received training from Perkin Elmer engineers after instrument installation

• Developed and validated sample prep and acquisition/quantification methods for Solvents/Terpenes on GCMS and Heavy Metals on ICPMS for lab's state license
• Lead analyst for Solvents/Terpenes on GCMS, backup analyst to rest of the lab
• Responsibilities included prepping calibration standards, worked on adding Internal Standards to current methods and checking inventory
• R/D and optimized sample preparation techniques to ensure accurate results while minimizing potential contamination.

Started as a driver but was moved to the ICPMS for Heavy Metals by the second week

• Data analysis on ICP-MS for Heavy Metals and GC-MS for Solvents/Terpenes
• Sample prep for and able to start analytical batches on LC/MS/MS for Pesticides, ICP-MS for Heavy Metals, GC-MS for Solvents/Terpenes, and HPLC for Potency
• Trained staff on first stages of sample prep, using solvents to extract regulated compounds
• Supervised sample homogenization and made sure lab is clean to limit contamination
• Was offered a management position before leaving

• Chemical engineering tutor at the Engineering Student Success Center
• I was responsible for tutoring the following courses: Mass Balances, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Separation Methods, Kinetic Reactors, and Heat & Mass Transfer
