I am on athletic scholarship at the illustrious Morgan State University to play basketball.

On the evening of February 9, 2021, on my way back from basketball practice, I learned that a close friend of mine had been newly diagnosed with leukemia. Although I was deeply emotional, I quickly had an idea. Aspiring to work in marketing and communications, I decided to create a GoFundMe campaign and an Instagram page to support my friend. Within just four days, I managed to raise over $15,000.

I utilized my skills to keep people updated on her condition while explaining why their donations were crucial. Today, I am still by my friend's side, and she has miraculously beaten cancer three times. The funds raised helped cover some of her medical expenses, but the experience gave me something far more valuable. Witnessing the struggles of multiple children in the hospital strengthened my resolve and inspired me.

My goal is to continue supporting pediatric cancer patients and to bring greater awareness to their journeys.
