  • Gainesville Rabbit Rescue is a non-profit committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and eventually adopt out rabbits in need.
  • Volunteering here consisted of general care of all the bunnies housed at the facility. They have over 90 rabbits in their care.
  • With many rabbits in their care, volunteers were expected to assist in feeding the rabbits, providing them with fresh greens, cleaning their water bowls and providing fresh water, cleaning their habitats and cages, as well as administering medications to those rabbits who need it. Volunteers are also able to let rabbits out, and provide them with free time outside of their cages.

MediGators Shadowing Program

  • MediGators is a shadowing program provided by the University of Florida for students looking to gain shadowing hours.
  • Responsibilities of the program included signing on daily to shadow physicians virtually.
  • Participants got to experience a variety of different specialties. These ranged from all kinds of specialties such as emergency medicine, dermatology, and oncology.
  • After shadowing, participants were expected to complete an exam to be tested on the knowledge discussed during physician presentations.
