  • My last year that I was in Mexico I was performing a role in Operations & Logistics for my family business
  • In Mexico they have a Transportations Company with 6 transportations vehicles (semi-trailers)
  • They carry freight and deliver it when companies needed with routes in all the 32 states of Mexico
  • The carry can be from equipments of medical use such as electrocardiograms, computers, etc
  • OR motorcycles depends of the need of the company
  • The activities that I was performing were focusing in Operations & Logistics such as be in communication with the truck driver from the point of carrying the freight all the day until they deliver, coordinate the logistics of time with the companies and giving them charging service fees based on the distance of the service, the amount of goods transport and the desire time of delivering
  • It was a small position that I did when I was 19 years old but I think it helped me to build a base of knowledge in what is working in Operations & Logistics and to pick an specialization for my Bachelors which is Supply Chain

Lifeguard and Camp Counselor

  • I worked in this summer camp in two positions for three months
  • My first position was as a lifeguard
  • I was responsible for taking care of the pool, ensuring it had the correct water level, and adding some chemicals if the pool needed
  • I was running a safety swimming test for the campers to make sure that they had the correct skills to get in the pool
  • I got my Lifeguarding certification for 2 years at my College called Cabrillo College in California by the Red Cross
  • The duration of the certification was 4 months in total
  • My second position was as a camp counselor
  • I had a group of kids in my charge to take care of them
  • I had to take them to perform activities which I was already previously trained with how to perform each of them and all the knowledge of the security rules
  • Such activities were hiking, archery, axe throwing, fencing, BMX, Climbing walls, Belaying, and rifle
  • In this work, I won an award that is called 'Staff Excellence 2023' This award is obtained by an outstanding hard worker who always performs their activities and a little more of what is expected
  • If I am still currently doing this job for this coming summer 2024 with the same positions but know they give me a promotion
  • Now I will be a leadership counselor which means that I will be in charge of supporting with advice to other counselors and I will keep practicing my skills of communication, leadership, empathy, organization, and patience
  • In this new position as a Leadership Counselor I was on charge to have meetings with all the counselors in the begging of their shifts and at the end every day to address different topics of matter such a strategies to deal with different kind of kids like a behavior disorder, disability, events in their life, etc or something just go over safety procedures, etc

  • I was working in the library of the college in a department called The HUB which was the center of tutoring of the whole university
  • The system of work was personal/group tutorings by appointment or drop-ins
  • Personal/group appointments were from 1 to 4 people max
  • In this tutorings I was supporting in any level of spanish that the student could require help as reviewing/teaching a topic learned in class, correction to write essays, preparations for public speeches or just conversational
  • Drop-Ins was a system for students to just show to the Tutoring center in our schedulr time with no appointment to answer quick questions or a quick review of a paper or class assignment
  • Each appointment was personalize according to each student needs and goals
  • The maximum duration of time per tutoring session was 1hr per individual or group session
  • I was in touch with all the faculty professor who were teaching Spanish each semester to learn their syllabus to match the topics, technics and style of teaching with the tutoring sessions
